The Canadian Association for Parish Nursing Ministry (CAPNM) is seeking an office Coordinator to join our team.

This Coordinator will manage the office coordination duties of CAPNM.  This position oversees all specifics involved in such things as memberships, financial accounts, website coordination, Board responsibilities, correspondence, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and National Conference coordination, maintaining Bylaws and helping with the facilitation of subcommittee work. As CAPNM’s only paid staff, your role is essential is unifying Parish Nurse activities across the country.  Currently the central Canadian office is in the London Ontario area.  What a special opportunity to become part of the fabric of Parish Nursing in Canada.

What is a Parish Nurse?

A Parish nurse is a registered nurse with specialized knowledge, who is called to ministry an affirmed by a faith community to promote health, healing comma and wholeness.

The Coordinator Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Independent
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Has ‘church organization/work’ experience
  • Proficient in using Email, basic accounting software (Simply Accounting) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, ppt, Xcel, etc.), and Zoom programs
  • Must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 20 lbs
  • Experience with digital media, AV and communications

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates communication between Board and CAPNM working groups
  • Writes Board agendas, minutes
  • Replies to correspondence concerning CAPNM
  • Work with Conference Planning committees to organize conference registrants and fees
  • Promoting annual AGM and conferences
  • Communicates with CAPNM members via email
  • Publishes and distributes Newsletters (4x/year)
  • Connecting individuals to parish communities across Canada
  • Facilitate introductions between new Parish Nurses and churches
  • Attends the AGM and Conference
  • Maintains CAPNM financial records
  • Collaborates with webmaster to update information on website
  • Takes initiative as necessary, delegates as appropriate
  • Assumes other duties as assigned by the CAPNM Board of Directors

Hiring Process

  • Ideally, lives in London or local area
  • Must be able to provide a clear criminal records check (with vulnerable sector provision) – within last 3 months

Job Type: Part-time
