Since 1987, the Church Health Center in Memphis, Tennessee, has provided quality, affordable healthcare for working uninsured people and their families. By uniting congregations with the Memphis community at large, the Center has grown into the largest faith-based clinic of its type in the country, caring for more than 55,000 patients of record without relying on government funding.
The Church Health Center has taken its mission -- to reclaim the church’s biblical commitment to care for all bodies and spirits -- to the Internet through HopeandHealing.org. Launched in early November, HopeandHealing.org provides and compiles online resources for people of faith looking for practical guidance on three main topics: health ministry, living with disease, and wellness. The site includes professional portals, which provide relevant information for chaplains, medical professionals, pastors, and parish nurses. Visit HopeandHealing.org and become a part of a growing community of people of faith caring for all bodies and spirits in our world.

The First Canadian Healthcare Conference is pleased to highlight their July 2009 showcase of "what’s happening" in healthcare across Canada and beyond.  We thought you’d be interested in reading these presentations.
(Please remember to click on the presenters' photos to read their bios, and to click on the "Click 1, click 2", etc. at the top of the page to see more presentations).
We ask that you support your colleagues to increase the value and impact of their work by using the "tell a coll" button, located towards the bottom of each page(s), to forward it to others.
If you are involved in work which you think would be of benefit to a wide and diverse spectrum of healthcare professionals please get in touch with Gloria Lattanzio (glorialattanzio@thefirstcanadianhealthcareconference.ca). Or if you have any questions or comments she would be happy to hear from you.
