Description: This program is designed for persons who desire focused learning in the area of spirituality as it relates to counselling in diverse settings. Persons who would be interested in this diploma would include those who provide spiritual care and counselling in a variety of situations (such as schools, prisons, health care settings, churches and other not-for-profit organizations) as well as individuals preparing for or working in health care, social services and community development. This diploma would also be of interest to persons exploring the relation of their own spirituality and well being. The format of the diploma program is four courses taken on a part-time basis.

Program/Course: Foundations in Parish Nursing: A national, ecumenical certificate program for Registered Nurses. Includes a week-long Summer Residency component, followed by further study through ‘Foundations Plus’, leading to a Certificate in Parish Nursing Ministry.

Dates: July 11-17, 2014 – summer residency, held at Holy Family Retreat House, Oxley, Ontario.
Description: This multidimensional program is designed to introduce fundamental concepts of the practice of parish nursing and is focused on practical application and personal and professional growth. It is suitable for any registered nurse interested in integrating spirituality, health and wholeness into their nursing practice. Following the Summer Residency, those who choose to work towards a Certificate will engage in a mentored practicum experience, further study through on-line and on-site programs, and ongoing support.
Cost:
$1,495.00 for summer residency
$1,050.00 for ‘Foundations Plus’ components leading to certification.

NEW BRUNSWICK:
Site: Fredericton, NB
Program/Course: Parish Nursing Education
Partners: Minimum of six partnering churches, several denominations
Dates: Three weekends (Friday evening and Saturday), one in each of September, October and November, 2013.
Description: Courses presented in three weekend sessions in the fall of 2011 and in the fall of 2013 (dates to be determined for 2012) with a 100 hour practicum with a PN mentor in between course offerings.
Cost:
A. $600 per church for one nurse and health committee/team member and $200.00 for an additional nurse (registering on that same year in that same church).
B. $600.00 per year for all nurses with no participating church in the first year (must have a church to continue in second year, so as to implement the program).
C. $150.00 for parishioners of all participating churches (not health committee members).
