Program/Course: Foundations in Parish Nursing:  An ecumenical, eight-day intensive educational and personal growth experience for registered nurses. Pre and post assignments are included.
Partners: St. Peter's Institute for Catholic Formation, London, Ontario & St. Joseph's Health Care Society
Dates: July 9-16, 2010
Description: This multidimensional program introduces basic concepts of the practice of parish nursing and is focused on practical application. Professional standards and core competencies are addressed.
Follow-up includes developing a support system and relationships with other spiritually centred nurses in order to sustain a parish nursing practice and individual spiritual growth.
Cost: $1,350.00. Fee includes meals, program materials and accommodation at the Holy Family Retreat House, Oxley, ON.

NEW BRUNSWICK:

Site: Classes rotate to several participants’ cities
Program/Course: Parish Nursing Education: Promoting Congregational Health, Healing and Wholeness in the 21st Century
Partners: Minimum of six partnering churches, several denominations
Dates: Fall 2009 (Level 1)
Description: Course presented in three levels.  Level 1 and Level 2, each followed by 6 month practicum (100 hours) with a PN mentor; based on IPNRC and ICHM community development model. Participants include RNs, clergy, and parishioners.
Cost: $600 per church per year (or Level) and $40 per participant
